The reason the Bible exists is due to the fact that Father God realized it was the most tangible and practical way to preserve His plan and purpose with mankind. It was also an act of His infinite wisdom and mercy. He didn’t have to do that, but He did it so we can also learn the importance of “historical preservation.”

One of my friends on Facebook posted the following quote the other day: “If we don’t teach our children to follow Christ the world will teach them not to.” This is what I call a mentoring quote.
The apostle John puts it this way: “but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.” –John 20:31 (emphasis mine)
“Mentoring” is being aware of the importance of history preservation. Jewish scribes were responsible for the preservation of today’s Bible as we know it. “The Dead Sea Scrolls are currently the best route of comparison to the accuracy and consistency of translation for the Hebrew Bible, due to their date of origin being the oldest out of any Biblical text currently known. (Wikipedia).
“Mentoring is being aware of the importance of history preservation.”
Ancient History was preserved by those professionals called scribes. Today’s generation may be focused in the latest computer game or iPhone, but someone needs to be interested in the preservation of who we are and what God’s plan is for our lives. This is the main reason I am putting so much effort in dedicating most of my time in “Mentoring a generation of New Leaders”.
Scribes were dedicated to write the events and history of the past. Could you imagine a world without the Bible? I am so grateful to the little shepherd boy who found the tangible proof of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
We are not only the shepherd boys of future generations; but also the first and last line of defense in protecting the message of the Gospel.
Mentoring is the vehicle we need to utilize to engage with the present generation. The present available means such as the Internet, “facebook” and any other available form and source of information should be utilized. Our destiny is to mentor the present generation so that they can preserve our history. If we don’t, then we will be surrendering our history. The message, “God the Father sent His Son to rescue us from eternal damnation” will be lost forever. You and I, as believers in God’s plan for our lives, cannot allow this to happen.
